breaking news New York State votes unanimously to throw Charter Spectrum out of the state the cable company has been ordered to begin transition plans immediately to discontinued operations in New York
A stunning vote by NY PSC today. I am out of the office now but listened to hearing. Vote is clear. Charter cannot continue providing service in New York, but there will be lawsuits galore.
Charter also fined an additional $1 million dollars by NY PSC. They have clearly had it. Now the next mission will be to keep Comcast from replacing them.

[CATV] Signal loss
Am in 76018. For the past 6 weeks, the signal goes out on Arris DCX3510M.
A technician came out....checked signals, said they were low, and that he had been around my neighborhood with customers having the same issue. He said it was an issue at the head end, and he would add my address to his report. He also replaced the cable line from the tap to my home and checked the signal in my house to confirm. After about a day, all seemed well and good....but now, every few days or so, while watching and changing channels, the signal will go off and I have to reboot the box, then things are ok again.
It happened again yesterday at about 4pm...watching local news and suddenly signal gone....reboot the box and resume watching, until next signal loss.
It's becoming a pain to rabbit the box, but at least that gets the signal back.
I just wish they would fix the problem and be done.
You ask why I have not reported this again? The answer: I don't want to go through the tired routine of a tech visit, when I know it's not the box or my cable line, which is now brand new...it's on their end. They need to fix it.

Website unreachable
For some reason I cannot get to https://lunarpages.com/ (my hosting site) while on Spectrum. I can get there on LTE and on ATT internet. I checked at home and from my parents house (both on Spectrum) and site is unreachable. This sucks cause I can't check email or get to my family website.
Can anyone here try on their end?

Cable Volume level
When watching TV using the Cisco 4742 HD Cable Box....I must raise my TV's Sound level to about 80% to get a decedent Volume Level. I have a Roku connected to this same TV....and when I switch to using it using the Spectrum TV App....the Volume is great at only 20% Volume level. Older cable Boxes had a Volume Setting that could be adjusted....is that setting/control still available? I looked thru all Cable Settings found AUDIO...but all it shows is a Digital selection...nothing as to volume.

Spectrum GiG - IP hasn't changed for almost a year causing probs

Hey guys,
I signed up for Spectrum's GIG plan almost a year ago switching from the 400mbps plan.
I have had the same IP address since I was put on the gig plan. SINCE DAY 1... a lot of websites I go to will say "Our system has detected abnormal activity from your ip address **.***.***.***" and I have to do CAPTCHA's every time. I also couldn't even sign in on a couple gaming platforms I use because the IP was already banned. I did get those straightened out after providing proof of my bill.
It's super annoying to deal with this. I've called Spectrum MANY times and they always give me a date and time when it will change but never does. They also say they have absolutely no way whatsoever to change it and it's not their problem. I've tried everything I can think of and have read through the forums to change/force IP change but to no avail.
Does anyone know if I take my modem into the store and exchange it for a new one.... will that force an IP change?

Does Spectrum still make you get a cable box if you stream?
I recently cancelled Spectrum Choice. It was decent but didn't include the one channel I wanted as a choice.
From the website it appeared I could get a new promo combining Select TV and internet for $110 which sounded great. I currently have 400/20, ULTRA for $90/month. The way I read the web site, I didn't need a cable box anymore if I used roku tvs. I know I can watch using the app but in the past they told me I had to have a physical box to get Select. Anyone know which is correct?
My options are just keep current internet and sign up with slingTV or youtubeTV but it's tough getting anyone from Spectrum who knows what the heck they're talking about and they're website is a freaking mess.

[HSI] Losing internet connection intermittently
I keep losing internet connection 1-3 times per day. Modem still has power/online lights normal (blue) and router thinks there is a WAN and has IP address but no connection is there. Only a power cycle on the modem fixes it. I have been running smokeping and can see exactly when things go down. (new modem is locked out. My past modems I could see the log and even showed the tech all the drops and he just said those logs mean nothing and gave me the locked modem instead). Using DNS 8.8.8.8 so not a DNS issue.
When things are lost, it takes 15 min to several hours to return but you have to power cycle modem as it will never come back on its own.
They have sent techs a bunch of times. Last fall, my issue was tons of dropped packets and supposedly a level two came out (and based on Level 1 tech guess, there issue was with amp in box by house).
Since then, I continue to get dropped connections. They have checked house wiring multiple times and replaced the run from house to box (even though tech said nothing wrong with it but wanted to pretend to help). Modem has been replaced several times. Last one was brand new E31T2V1. he said line was rock solid in that visit.
I am convinced the issue is upstream with something rebooting or resetting but also fixing itself but requiring a resync or relog by modem before I see return to service. When I call, they either say everything is fine with the line, or do a reset remote to modem which of course fixes things, or just offer to send a tech to the house.
How do I describe this to useless customer rep in a way to get a tech to look upstream (and based on symptoms, what/where could I suggest is broken to try to force the issue?

[Speed Issues] Slow speeds with Arris TM1602AP2
I am on the 400/20 plan. I usually don't get over 300. Signal levels look good.
Should I go to the Spectrum store and ask for a D3.1 modem? I'm in Dayton, OH so I'm not sure if it is common for the store to have them or not. We do have the 940 tier here.

What do you guys know about the pros and any cons of this feature? I heard that it is $5.00 per line and read that you are supposed to consider having it for 12 months before making changes back to a Public listing? See attachment.

[TWC] Arris DVR
I currently have a Arris DVR it was swapped out by Spectrum from a Technocolor 6 tuner recently.
Our area has ODN / MON Guide.
Questioning if you try to scroll say 10 to 15 channels up or down.
Why does everything go blank within the guide?
On the Technocolor you could hold the button and everything within the guide would load as it was scrolling but that's not happening on this Arris DCX 3600-M
Everything goes gray no data shown if you try to scroll.
Is that a software issue that the data within the guide goes blank or an issue with the DVR?

Why Doesn't Business Internet allow use of TV App?
I have Spectrum cable at home and at our office. But if I use the TV app at the office it tells me I need to use Spectrum internet to get all channels. Why doesn't business internet count? The account is not in my name but my office uses Spectrum. Seems a bit picky. Thoughts?

[HSI] Charter speed increases.
Most of charter will be at 100 Mbps down by next week. Charter is increasing spectrum ultra in most markets to 300/20 in the next couple weeks. Meaning that ultra upgrade will be worth it over the 100/10 speed package.

[HSI] Please help a new customer understand what to expect w/ outages.
As the title suggests, I'm a new customer that signed up a month ago and have already had two outages. I work from home, so an outage can actually upset my employer. I was lucky with the first out, It only lasted 2 hours and happened after work. The second outage I wasn't so lucky, It happened at 9am and lasted 3 hours and I got in a bit of hot water at work because of it. Prior to switching to Spectrum I had WOW! Internet and only had one outage over the course of 6 1/2 years, so this frequency concerns me. So is this what I should expect from Spectrum? or are they more reliable than it appears and I just hit a rare series of hiccups? Please share so I know if I should switch back to WOW! or ride it out for a while. Thanks!
