There is only one rewind speed (slow) and no progress tracking anymore unless you're using the DVR. Why would they do that - every cable system I've ever seen gives you tracking and FF/Rewind speed options - including Charter until today. GRRR!

Spectrum Branded Equipment Guide (STB, Routers, Modems)
This is to avoid ANY confusion with what brand boxes you have. This post is NOT for legacy boxes (before the Spectrum merger)
Since Spectrum has made TV STB's as well as the D3.1 modems/Wave 2 Routers with their branding on it instead of a visible manufacturer and you have this equipment, this little guide is to decipher what box you may have.
A * beside any brand box/modem/router is MY personal preference. Not necessarily the best box but i've had good personal experiences with them.

A stunning vote by NY PSC today. I am out of the office now but listened to hearing. Vote is clear. Charter cannot continue providing service in New York, but there will be lawsuits galore.
Charter also fined an additional $1 million dollars by NY PSC. They have clearly had it. Now the next mission will be to keep Comcast from replacing them.

Will Spectrum ever remove that ridiculous $199 Fee for Gig?
I've been ready to get the Gig service since its inception, but the $199 fee is ridiculous. My line is already conditioned since I've had business service so no tech is needed. I currently have Ultra and the $49 install fee for that was ridiculous enough. Anyway around this fee?

[Speed Issues] [Gig] [TX-DFW] Very slow upload speeds + packet loss
Hi all,
So this has been going on since November, but I've been actively trying to get this fixed for over 2 months now (6+ tech visits) after it was clear it was an issue that wasn't going to fix itself.
The story at this point is insanely long but here's as short of a TL;DR I can make:

October, speeds were great. As advertised. Was using a Netgear CM1000 modem.
November I notice games/discord were saying I had a spotty connection. Did a quick speed test
and it was showing upload speed dropped to about 6mbps. Didn't look much into it.
Late December issue is still happening. I call and schedule a technician to come out. He uses his handheld test device and sees the low upload speeds but also sees my signals were coming in too hot. Puts in a maintenance request.
Early Jan I hear back and they say my signal levels were fixed. Run another speed test and nothing has changed speed-wise. I call and they confirm signals are good and send another technician out. Same tech comes by and checks all of my connections. Says all is good on my end regarding signal levels. Must be a node issue. He puts in another maintenance request.
I wait a week. Call back and support tells me I need to change to their modem or they wouldn't support me. I tried to fight back but at this point I want it resolved and agree.
Tech comes out and installs the black Ubee. Surprise, issue is not resolved. Tech says it's a node issue.
I wait a few days before calling again. I insist that I need this escalated at this point because every technician is telling me the same thing and they keep trying to send technicians to my house. They say 'we're sorry we'll send a supervisor tech that can help you escalate it'.
Supervisor tech comes by. Except it was the same tech that was over a few visits ago. I send him off.

Arris SB8200 check up Spectrum 400/20 Ultra
Noticed a channel not locked? Also no upstream channel bonding? I came from a CM600 that had it. Only my downstream light is blue. Pictures attached. Latest firmware has not yet been pushed to my modem. It came with version D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.0.0.2-GA-01-NOSH hope fully it updates over night. I know the current version for Spectrum is D31CM-PEREGRINE-1.1.1.0-GA-11-NOSH

The worst service ever
I know I am not alone. I pay full price ever month close to $170.00. My internet service is horrible. Outages slow load times videos that play in less than 720 k and they call it fast most reliable on the commercials. This is a joke. I complained to BBB and they came out and did some test and said everything is good. However 6 times this year I missed the Drew Breeze making history throwing 500 Tv's why you ask oh because my service went out for a few minutes. The same is true for every playoff game this year the last 3 minutes or so sloppy service or no service at all. When I call them they say everything is good. When they come out they tell me it is because the lines in my building are to old to carry true HD however I am the dummy to pay it every month. Time to look for my options.

[CATV] Streaming App Issues
I have been using the app for years on a Roku without issues.
For the last week or so quality has been extremely bad pixilation, pauses and channel chosen does not matter. Any other apps on the Roku works fine and speeds are normal for 200/20.
I am in SoCal 92883

[CATV] Technicolor Sleep Timer?
Often, I'll jump online to do some gaming while glancing over to my television. After a certain amount of hours, the Set-Top Box shuts itself off. Is this an issue I can fix, where the Set-Top remains "on" until I shut the power off? … Or is this a built in feature that cannot be fixed?
I have gone through the various menus and see nothing but the Sleep Time feature which does nothing with the issue I am having above.

Condo Assoc Bulk Billing
Our Condo Assoc is considering a Bulk Cable Billing Plan that would be included in our Monthly Maintenance Fee. I am sure, or maybe not, not all Bulk Billing Plans are the same, that is, the services and equipment may vary.
I really would appreciate Feedback from those who are in an Assoc that agreed to Bulk Billing...the Pros, cons or for that matter, any feedback. As an example, I personally do not like being forced to keep a Cable service I do not want...and with Bulk Billing I am Locked into a provider and cannot change should another provider provide better service at even maybe Lower pricing.
Any and all feedback will be appreciated.....

Cable Modem eMTA return bounty?
Does Spectrum offer a bounty for old Cable Modems?
When TWC was running the show this was easy, any tech would take them. I actually think they got a bonus for retrieving them. Now techs will not take them.
In case anyone is wondering, I do networking and these are from sites that we are taking over. We usually don't order coax based service, and we typically order POTS from AT&T. I can ewaste them at the recycling center but that seems like a waste. Last time I went in the Spectrum retail location they didn't seem like they had any idea how to handle them since I didn't know what account they we're coming off of, and honestly it's not worth my time to take them there for nothing...

New Spectrum Streaming Service

[HSI] Spectrum Gig - Post your experiences here
Let's reserve this thread for only folks who are ordering/have ordered/have installed the new 940x35 tier, served over DOCSIS 3.1. Include location, modem provided, pricing, speed/latency/signal details, etc.
To be fair, I'm starting this one a little early.
City: Austin, TX (NW)
Price: $124.99/mo + tax, $199.99 install fee (no discounts)
Confirmed on Twitter earlier today that Gig was available here, then had a 9am Thursday appointment one 8 minute, 54 second call later (no initial hold time for sales). No discounts because I can't exactly pretend I'll switch to AT&T; their service is 5 Mbps here. Will be interesting to see what modem/gateway the tech brings.
EDIT: Got email confirmation of the appointment. Looks like it's Wednesday at 1pm now. I'm not complaining :)
EDIT 12/20 2p: Tech shows up at 1:51pm. Technicolor modem, same as in Hawaii. No branding on the router, which is an 11ac Wave 2 device with one WAN port (the modem has two LAN ports). Tech is on the phone with dispatch to get the router and modem activated.
EDIT 12/22 2:40a: I can't stress enough how good the provided router is (made by Askey), particularly on the WiFi side. I just topped out at over 750 Mbps on my 2013-vintage MacBook Pro...over WiFi. It has a 3x3 11ac radio from Atheros (now QCA). My nearly-brand-new work laptop, which only has a 2x2 radio, was still able to hit 500+ Mbps.
Also, I just tested ports 22, 80, 443, and 5900. None of them are blocked.

Connection Issues
I have been having connection issues for a few months now and i can't seem to figure out the issue. It's completely random too and only last for maybe 30 seconds at a time. I lag in games, streaming services will stop and buffer and it happens on all of my devices wired or wireless. I thought it was maybe my router going but i'm starting to think it's something else. Here are my signals on my modem if anyone can take a look and let me know if they see anything it would be much appreciated. Something i thought i should mention i get really bad bufferbloat if i don't set up Qos on my router (AC68U) which is running Asuswrt-Merlin.

[Other] Slow spectrum.net web site's login?
The current https://www.spectrum.net/login web page is always slow (takes about ten seconds) to fully show up in both of my Mozilla's SeaMonkey v2.49.4 and Internet Explorer v11 web browsers. Firefox v65.0.2 and Google Chrome v72 are slightly faster, but I still have to wait in my decade old, updated 64-bit W7 HPE SP1 & Debian oldstable/Jessie v8 PCs. :(
