[CATV] Channel Package that includes NESN in Florida

$

I have searched and I have not found a Spectrum that includes the Out of Market Sports Chanels. Their was one from the BHN days that I did find a rate card of 10 a month. Does that still exist? Do I just call Spectrum and tell them I want to add NESN to my channel package?

[HSI] Went from 32 Channel downstream back down to 24

Last night the Cable box and Internet modem rebooted, I thought okay maybe they're finally fixing the Downstream bonding channel that they didn't fixwhenthey came out 2 weeks ago... So I got onto the GUI for my cable modem SB8200 and noticed not only did they not fix it the problem... they also deducted 8 downstream channels. I don't know if anyone else in the area of Kern County or in the surrounding area's are seeing the same deduction... or that maybe they were doing a beta for Gigbit for the Docsis 3.1. I would like to know also if there's a way I can get a fire lit under their feet to fix the downstream channels.... which you'll can see in the screen shots.. I had problems with these people for over a 2 years blaming my equipment as usual...

[CATV] To Remove An Amp Or Leave The Amp In Place?

$

Awhile back, my television service portion of the Triple Bundle Package had 10 channels (different channels each time and occurred daily) that would black out. Numerous tech visits, splitter changes, and coax replacement(s) failed to resolve the television issues. Finally, a tech placed an amp in our attic but the issue still existed. I decided to replace my Technicolor Set-Top Box, which had the issue but with more channels. Once again, I had the Technicolor Box replaced a third time and now all channels come in clear - with not a single black out happening since the third swap out. I am guessing there may be issues with the Technicolor Set-Top Boxes. My question is: Should I leave the amp in the attic plugged in (for a stronger signal) or will leaving the amp connected and plugged into an outlet supply too much power? Main reason, the coax inside my home is pretty old and I'm wondering if the amp will damage my in-home "legacy" coax, leading to an expensive replacement in the future?

Condo Assoc Bulk Billing

Our Condo Assoc is considering a Bulk Cable Billing Plan that would be included in our Monthly Maintenance Fee. I am sure, or maybe not, not all Bulk Billing Plans are the same, that is, the services and equipment may vary. I really would appreciate Feedback from those who are in an Assoc that agreed to Bulk Billing...the Pros, cons or for that matter, any feedback. As an example, I personally do not like being forced to keep a Cable service I do not want...and with Bulk Billing I am Locked into a provider and cannot change should another provider provide better service at even maybe Lower pricing. Any and all feedback will be appreciated.....

[HSI] MN L-Charter Updates?

Curious from anyone with inside information if they know of any potential info as to what updates may be hitting MN. As with most of the footprint, we received the 100/10 upgrade in Dec 2017, but neither the rate card nor the Ultra plan have changed since either with no word from CS or local store as to coming ultra package. As I've read as of late of areas getting D3.1 in prep for 1Gbps, just curious if 3.1 is getting green lit here soon, for potential 400Mbps ultra or any other updates people may have heard. [Also adding in, I've seen a decent amount of Spectrum trucks rolling locally so it seems they are fairly active in plant upgrades or service calls, atleast more than normal] Thanks in advance!

[CATV] Spectrum TV options better than DirecTV Now?

Hello. I'm a current Spectrum Ultra HSI (400/20) customer ($44.99 for 2 yrs) and I stream my TV via DirecTV Now (Just Right package - see image above for all included channels) for $55 p/m. Total with internet it's $100. My question is if Spectrum offers a better deal/package if my internet is bundled with their TV? Either Steaming TV package or regular Cable TV option. I'm in So Cal (SFV) and need some suggestions please. Is it better to stay with Spectrum Internet + DirecTV Now for $100 p/m or can I get something better from Spectrum for BOTH?

[CATV] My crazy install story.

So switching from Frontier. Install scheduled for 9-10 on Monday morning. Guy shows up at 9:45, all good. We survey things and no new cables need to be run, etc. Should be easy. Gets things hooked up outside, temporary bright orange cable from splitter run down the alley. Took a couple tries and a trip back for "good" cable cards to get the TiVO going, but all good by around noon. That night at 8:20pm, everything suddenly cuts out. Not TV, no internet, no phone (of course). I look at router stats, etc, and there is just no signal at all. Call and am told a technician could be out Wednesday to look at things. After hearing it was a new install, they said never mind, someone will be out tomorrow morning. Assure me nothing on their end shows my service was discontinued or anything, but they can't communicate with my equipment. As I'm thinking about it just seems like the cable was disconnected or something. So the next morning, I went out and looked at the cable and it didn't look like it got caught in a car wheel or anything but it occurs to me to review my security camera footage of the alley just before service cut out. And WHAT? I see a guy walking down the alley to behind the fence where the cable splitter in the alley is, and our neighbors garage door is open. Then poof! So I ring the neighbor's doorbell. They say "Oh, that must have been the Spectrum guy! Our service went out yesterday morning and we called and they came and restored it around 8:30 last night". I think we all know what happened at this point. Our installer unplugged our neighbor to hook us up and their technician came and unplugged ours to restore their service. The top on the cover was not locked so I opened it up and sure enough or orange cable was just sitting in there disconnected. The splitter had one connected cable and the reset of the outputs had terminators that I didn't see any obvious way to remove. I called and escalated and got a really nice agent that said they would follow through with everything. The technician that came that morning agreed with me on what had apparently been done. He surmised they didn't have the right tool to remove the terminators or something. I guess our original installer was rolling the dice hoping that our neighbor wasn't actually using Spectrum but the guy that came at night absolutely had to know he was disconnecting a new customer given the orange cable running down the alley, etc. Totally inconceivable that they could be so incompetent or stupid or whatever led to that situation, just crazy. Anyway got a couple of days credited for my troubles, hopefully things just keep working and no one else on my street signs up for service.

[HSI] 400 Ultra for 200 price

Just checked on new service pricing for my address. Can select 200, 400, or gig. System defaults to 400 and shows an additional $0 upcharge. So it appears new subscribers can get Ultra 400 for entry level price ($44.99/24 months at my house). Is this available to existing subscribers? I am paying a $25/month uncharge for 400 Ultra. Also is there any way to get the new subscriber pricing? thanks!

It appears the channel is now available in HD on Channel 1243 in Orlando. I've seen some HD pictures. We have had the national SD version on 232. It's still not on auto tune like the other SD channels that have gone HD.

[HSI] Charter speed increases.

Most of charter will be at 100 Mbps down by next week. Charter is increasing spectrum ultra in most markets to 300/20 in the next couple weeks. Meaning that ultra upgrade will be worth it over the 100/10 speed package.

[CATV] Switching to Charter tv/SPP 2.0?

Called yesterday to see what kind of a deal I could get by adding tv to my internet plan. Didn't get the greatest deal in the world, but after my Dish promo ends on the 25th and price goes up, I will still be saving about $10 and getting more channels as I went for the Silver package. Guy on phone also said he could increase my speed but wouldn't specify if it was the 200 or 400 download speed. According to the rate card for my area, 200 tier isn't even available here. He said something about SPP 2.0(?) which nobody is supposed to know about and searches aren't finding squat. He mentioned that when I told him 200 speed isn't available here. Whether I get the 200 or 400 speed, he said price would remain the same for internet. He was decent enough to tell me about using Roku to stream tv to save money on not needing 3 STB's, which I will check out once I get connected. Never had any luck with their streaming app when I previously had their tv service though. I guess after all that rambling, what I mainly would like to know is does anyone know what he was talking about with that SPP 2.0 and how could I get the 200mbps speed if it's supposedly not available here? Thanks

Sleep not Turning Off Television

$

Long story short, we had to change our set top boxes out (from Technicolor to Arris), and now the Menu>Settings>Devices>Sleep Timer only turns the box off and the TV just 'idles' there all night. This is an unfortunate step backwards and I don't know what to do at this point, so any ideas are appreciated... Some Additional Info: The actual options after selecting Menu are different than before, but they both had/have 'sleep timer'. The 'connection' from the set top box to the TV has changed from coax cable to composite (due to the techs not having any boxes capable of coax output). The TV now shows 'line' when the box is off (I believe the TV used to be on 'channel 3' before). The 'TV' buttons that work are : channel +-, vol +-, last, mute, and the 0-9 number pad, which I believe is no different from the last box. The Remote is RC122, same as before.

Askey router root PW?

So, as a result of structured wiring deficiencies at my new place, I'm going to need to run a wired router between my modem and the wireless router Spectrum provides. I like that router, but as an AP rather than a full-on router...and you can't make it do that without the root password. Not admin, root. See here: https://fccid.io/H8NRAC2V1K/User-Manual/User-Manual-3305952 Anyone happen to have a login URL + password that works, so I can flip the box into AP mode and have a flat network topology again?

Just checked the TWC website and noticed something strange. The max speed was listed "up to 60" (50 was the previous). I called one of the call centers and got switched to 60 at a discounted rate. I also have the option (according to the CSR) to switch to 300 for 89.96 per month, a tech roll and a 199 install fee.

Top Secret DNS server info ?

Called tech support today to get the IP addresses for Spectrum's DNS servers. The person on the phone said she was unable to provide the information. I asked if this was support for their Internet, it was. I asked why she was unable to provide the information. She explained to me (several times) they do not provide any information for routers, modems etc. I asked for a supervisor (I am thinking this is unbelievable not able to provide something so basic for their customers) the supervisor was no help either. I need the info for my router so if anyone has the information please share. Thanks!

New Hitron modem

So what is everyone's take on these new modems? I have the spectrum gig service and I started the service with the TC4400 but yesterday they did something(guy couldn't tell me exactly what happened) but basically they broke the TC4400 and can no longer work on my account. So they had to come out today and swap out the TC4400 for the hitron model. I don't know what they broke but it didn't matter if they removed/deactivated the modem and added it back it was no longer wanting to work. But anyways my tc4400(or their modem)was pretty solid modem for me, never once had any issues out of it and I do and I still old and new modem get around 940mbps on the down. Its also a bummer because I had the tc4400 unlocked and was able to look at the signals and what not, but I can't even access a page to enter a password.

Spectrum 201-T vs Spectrum 210-H

Good afternoon, Just had a quick question...my brother and a friend of mine recently had Spectrum HD DVRs installed. One of them received a Spectrum 201-T, and the other received a Spectrum 210-H. From what I can see, both boxes look the same to the eye. Does anyone know what the difference is between these two boxes, and which one of the two would be the better one? Size hard drives, number of tuners, best performance-wise? I was able to find the Spectrum 201-T listed on Spectrum's site, but can't seem to find any info regarding the Spectrum 210-H. I'm about to order TV service from Spectrum myself, and want to be able to ask the tech for the "better" one if he happens to have both on his truck. Thank you! :)
