I am in a delema with Charter-Spectrum Broadband Internet, the deal is this, Residential service they will provide up to 300/300 Mbps synchronous Internet Service
and they let the subscriber use their own CableLabs Certified DOCSIS 3.0 Approved Cable Modem. However on Business Internet they only provide the following
100DL / 007UL Asynchronous Broadband Internet service and they WILL NOT let you provide a CableLabs approved Cable Modem. they claim that it takes a special
Modem that only Charter can Provision which is poppycoc, but that is their mindset. So what I am looking to do is Find a Provisionable Cablemodem and do it myself.
I tried to use the Arris Surfboard 6190 which is an ok modem however it does lock but will not travel over the network, It says Internet Access but will not Surf.
The Charter Provided Modem is a HitRon POS modem and it is Charter Proclaimed not to work with VoIP so since I provide VoIP I need something other than the HitRon.
Charter is coming out tomorrow to supposedly do the changout but I am afraid I am going to end up with another POS modem with another known issue. 99% of
the Retail Modem's the Mfg's have been Browbeat by the cable companies not to provide support to access the firmware and flash the firmware. Thus
you can beg and grovel all you want the Mfg's wont budge.
I am all ears and open to about anything at this moment
