So recently, about a week ago, I started having connectivity issues with my Netgear wireless modem/router combo I was getting from Charter. So I tried doing everything first myself to solve the problem (power cycling, unplugging, etc.). However, this did not solve the problem so I had to call Tech support and whatever they did on their end seemed to be a temporary fix. However, the issue of my Internet going down repeated on a constant basis for about 5 days straight.
I started to think my modem/router was going bad so I headed down to the local office and I wanted to exchange my modem/router. I was told Charter was doing away with the combos and now they are offering modems but I would have to provide the router myself?
I got their Motorola Docsis 3.0 cable modem and bought myself a router.
I thought they claimed their modem should be free? They told me I have to pay a $7 monthly fee?
Also when I had the modem/router combo I was getting fantastic speeds of 40+Mbps and now that I have a separate modem and router, my speeds are way down. Any advice?
