I have searched around but cannot find a definitive answer as to why the Spectrum streaming app is on Roku and not Apple TV.
There is an app for iPad, and iPhone. So there must be a legal, rather than technological reason, as to why it is not available.
Does anyone know? Link to source?

Gigabit live April 7th. Hickory, NC. Chtr Tech. says it's troubl
Had a tech at my house today who basically said my speed issues were from the upgrades being done and they've got the entire infrastructure screwed up right now. Basically checked signals, connectors and said there was nothing he could do about it. He also said he doesn't recommend upgrading to gig bc if I'm having speed issues now, gig will be a bigger head ache. I have 100/10 most of the time I run consistent at 112/11.5 but past week it's been dropping packets do speeds at 20's and been issued a IP from over 100 miles away. When before my ips always registered within 5-10 miles. This is insane, why are they upgrading and messing up everything? Just leave it alone , especially when you're only offering 35-40 mgbit upload....

Moving to California and to Spectrum
I was on BHN here in Florida then switched to at&t GigaPower. I had no issues (and a lower bill) for symmetrical 1Gbps U/D, no-cap internet and DirecTV. During the last huirricane we actually had TV before others during the power outage as I ran my DirecTV dish and converter from the generator. We were lucky as our outage was only ~36 hours.
Now relocating to 92010 and as at&t doesn't offer fiber just standard U-Verse, I will head to Spectrum (sigh). What I have been reading is not too encouraging but I just need to do my homework, read this forum, understand the T&Cs, and make the choice.
So I'll be back in this forum once we arrive in Carlsbad and setup the connection. Will I miss the 1Gbps U/D? Not really as most remote sites don't support that rate. BUT, backing up to the cloud was done at over 250 Mbps Upload. Not 1Gbps but much faster than cable.

Is it just me, or has this excellent guide called it quits this year? I would gladly pay for it. :(
Regardless, does anyone have another online guide they can recommend?

New Spectrum Service not by Choice
So currently have Frontier FiOS (formally Verizon FiOS) which I love and never have problems. 150/150 Internet and Multiroom DVR. Due to moving I have no options other than Spectrum. So I lose my internet speed and my Multiroom DVR
While there doesn't seem to be much I can do about the internet speed my only options are 100/10 or 300/20 or 30? they don't seem to know. In fact, any time I call them to ask questions then never know the answers which scares me.
So in trying to solve some of the features I will miss like Multiroom DVR and the fact that ther DVR can only record 2 channels at once I have some questions I hope someone here can answer.
1. The Spectrum App that is available on Android as well as XBox, does it allow you to watch what is recorded on your DVR? 90% of what I watch is recorded on DVR so if this app allows me to do that it solves my multi room issue.
2. Based on the answer to question 1, I considered buying a TiVo which has 6 tuners and renting a cable card hower I'm looking at a pretty large investment to have Multi Room service with that so I'm wondering if TiVo has an app as well that runs on xbox that would allow me to watch the DVR.
3. The router provided by Spectrum, is it crap should I invest in my own? I will be living in an apartment. My current apartment issue is that there is so much WiFi congestion the WiFi is slow so really I'd like to have them run wired connections to 3 rooms if it's possible the local sales rep says it is at $40 a jack. I considered buying my own high speed wirless router to avoid any junk they give me and maybe that would be good enough.
4. If I use a cable card are there any gotcha's of things I won't have with it. I know VOD and PPV is probably not an option but that's fine I only need some local channels and a handful of cable channels.
5. Is the 300/20 or whatever service worth it?
Thanks or any help anyone can provide.

[HSI] Charter reducing bandwidth for YouTube videos?
Over the last few days I've noticed that YouTube videos will either play at a very low resolution and buffer constantly or not play at all. I haven't changed up my network configuration at all, but I did reboot everything just to make sure. I also tried over a wired connection but got the same results. Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

[Speed Issues] Odd Router Issue on Spectrum Service
Hey All,
I have charter spectrum 60mb service, an Arris SB6141, and a Netgear R6400. Recently my connection has had periodic dropouts, and when it is connected it is slow enough to almost be unusable.
When I connect modem--router(with wifi broadcast turned off)--PC hardwired I see connection speeds of 1-3 mb/sec. The modem signal report and logs are as follows:
https://ibb.co/hWvvqS
https://ibb.co/n2kvqS
When I connect modem--PC hardwire I see connection speeds of 55-65 mb/sec. The modem signal report is as follows:
https://ibb.co/cg56x7
So far I have tried updating the router firmware to newest version, changing cat5 cable between components. Does anyone have any ideas on why adding a router to the network would cause poor signal/communication between modem and ISP like this? Also the error log show alot of "MDD loss" what is this? Thanks for any insight you may have!

It's Alive in Wisconsin
Just checked the TWC website and noticed something strange. The max speed was listed "up to 60" (50 was the previous). I called one of the call centers and got switched to 60 at a discounted rate. I also have the option (according to the CSR) to switch to 300 for 89.96 per month, a tech roll and a 199 install fee.

Considering switch from FIOS to Spectrum
Long time loyal FIOS user, but rates (especially "surcharges and fees") keep going up and up and I'm considering a switch to Spectrum, our other option here (lower Westchester country, NY). Am being offered a very attractive deal with faster speed download (but WAY slower upload) and pretty much the package I have now for less, guaranteed for three years. But when I went on here to check reviews, there seem to be NONE in my area (there weren't last year either) and reliability and service are important to us. It used to be Time Warner here and they were HORRIBLE from what I've heard with many outages and bad customer service, so I don't know if Spectrum just took over and it's the same service or if they've improved, and most of my neighbors have FIOS.
Anyway to find out if service is decent in my area? And if so, will it be much of a hassle switching over? I hate leaving FIOS but I have to fight for discounts every year and this year I am facing yet another big raise.

[TWC] Need help getting service.
Hello,
I live in Hopkinsville, a beautiful area in Southern Kentucky.
We live just outside of the city limits which is approximately 2 miles away.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to establish Internet service in this area for, not just myself, but for the dozens and dozens of neighbors nearby that are also in need, for the past 9 years.
I recently had an interaction with Spectrum, because I call every 3 to 4 months in hopes that they have extended service, and it has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had.
The sales representative I spoke with 10 days ago called the dispatch for the construction crew who assured the representative, and thus myself, that it was now possible to do the work required to get us our long awaited service.
The representative took my payment, set up our installation appointment and Welcomed me to the Time Warner family. That day I was ecstatic! Finally! We we're going to have Internet! Finally, my kids would be able to use the resources sent home by their schools to help further their education's! Finally, my husband could enroll in the College courses needed to complete his degree. Finally, my prayers had been answered.
Then we began our 9 day waiting period. You see, the representative set the appointment over a week out so the construction crew could put in the 800+ft needed to make our service possible. During this time I also spread the word to all the neighbors and they frantically called to get service for themselves as well.
Our installation appointment finally comes this morning and the amazingly friendly technician arrives to do his job. The only problem? There has been no construction crew come out. Not for a survey. Not to extend the lines. Nothing.
Of course I was very upset by this news. Crushed even, because I feel like I've broken a promise to my kids that I now have to tell them about. However I still called back to see what happened and what needed to be done. After all, I've already paid to have service installed.
I spoke with several representatives who weren't much help because there isn't much they can do, but they eventually got me over to the dispatch for construction who turned out to be the most hateful person I've dealt with in a very long time. She chose to hang up on me because that is easier than answering my questions.
I just want to know what to do. All my family, my neighbors, and I want is to have access to Internet. Yet I've gotten lies, broken promises, and the run around instead.
I completely understand that any expansion is based on Return on Investment. However, there are dozens of us here who would be faithful customers for years and years to come. Expanding just one half mile would would make it possible for at least 20 new accounts.

Considering switching to Charter Spectrum Business is it reliabl
We have reached a point where are Frontier DSL is just useless. The modem spends more time retraining than it does connected to the internet especially between the hours of 6 and 10 p.m.
So my wife and I have decided to try switching to Charter Spectrum Business the lowest tier which is about $107 a month not including fees and taxes. My question is the Old Charter residential was so unreliable with weekly outages that it was Impractical to use. Is Charter Business Spectrum more reliable because it has to serve business customers? I have a few days to make my decision while Charter does the survey to find out if it's available in my area.

Existing Promotion Expired on Grandfathered TWC plan. Now what?
Hey guys,
I am living in San Diego, CA. Although we have had decent TWC Maxx rollouts, Spectrum conversion has just been brutal. I have TWC Preferred TV, 200 Mbps plan, and National Phone service on the TWC legacy plan grandfathered for the life of the account. I was paying $100 for the first year, $121 for the second year, and now it has increased to $145.
I called Spectrum Accounts department and they said they are not able to add, change, or remove any promotions to the account because it is a grandfathered plan. I hang up and called again just to see if I can get someone else to do it, but I got the same answer. I don't know if there is a separate retentions department that can do better.
I also went to the Spectrum store here in San Diego, CA. The person I met there was the person I saw last year as well. He told me that there is no way he can add anything to the plan without it converting to the Spectrum plan. He is being a good guy and told me he would give me new customer pricing if I changed the name on the account to someone else in my household, but that would be on the spectrum plan.
Is there any recourse here or do I have to end up cancelling/switching to Spectrum plan pricing?
Thanks for reading!

[HSI] Another SB8200 Thread - I know...
First of all, I have found the wealth of information on this site to be amazing and I am glad to be part of the community. With that being said, I was looking for some insight.
Today, I swapped out a Netgear CM600 for a new Arris SB8200. There was no issue with the CM600, I just thought for a few bucks more, I could get a modem that was a bit more future proof. I was within the 30-day return period for my CM600.
During activation, the Spectrum rep gave me a hard time about activating the device. Every other time I called, all they asked for was the MAC address. Anyway, begrudgingly, she activated it and said she was activating it as a Docsis 3.0 modem since no 3.1 modems are approved at this time. Everything is working fine, speeds are great and no latency to speak of.
However, a couple of things bug me.
1. The system time for the modem is 7 hours off. It is currently 7:27 PM, April 2, but the system time on the modem is 2:27 AM, April 3. Any ideas if this is fixable?
2. The blue downstream light is on indicating DOCSIS 3.1 bonding, but in the status screen it shows channel 33 as unlocked. I have seen other activations where the channel is actually locked. Should I even worry about this?
FYI, legacy TWC in Ventura County, CA. I attached a screen shot of the status screen for anyone willing to review. Thank you in advance for your feedback!

[CATV] New HD Channels in Digital Transitions
I'm trying to find information on if any new HD channels have launched for the following areas that have appeared to go all digital lately.
Upstate NY
Columbus, OH
El Paso, TX
Hawaii (Oceanic)
Because of Spectrum's terrible lineup page, I can't determine what's in HD and what's not, especially for former Time Warner Cable areas.
Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated, and will help me manage the HD channels chart over at AVSforum.
