Charters doing away with wifi equip/service.

I know its been some time since they started this and actually I had no idea until 6 months ago when I had called about my slow speed that I was getting in my house but had been paying for high speed for a very long time and that was almost up so actually I was ripped of in that area, and then they went on to telling me I needed to upgrade from my ubee modem/router and and they would send me one in the mail because the combo wasnt allowing me the mbps iI was paying for. So I did that. I waited and got it in the mail to find it was just a modem and not the router, it was not a combo. I was paying for wifi, always had wifi for years and yet they didnt say one word to me when the customer service rep had all my info in her face when talking with me on the phone that it was just going to be a modem. So meanwhile my daughter is about to start college and needed the internet in the worst way and we all have lap tops and there is no desk top in this house, we literally needed a router for wifi. So I called and complained and wanted to know what was going on. When I called and complained they acted like they did no wrong, I asked to speak to a supervisor over and over again and the CS rep hung up on me. I was being nice but stern because after all this was inexcusable in what they did. I then found out from calling back and finally talking to a supervisor that they were not going to carry combos or wifi anymore and I would have to get my own or they would bring me one at a one time charge of $20.00. OK I was game with that but was leery of that one time fee from past experiences from them but it did work out ok. So they brought to me , hooked it up for later to be charged some outrages fee for adding a new cable jake , to which they did not at all. I already had what they needed so I had to waste my time again on dealing with that. I get so sick of wasting my time for this companies failures. So now this equipment is mine I go on line and register it and you only get 6 months free customer services. Thats where I have issues. I pay for internet through Charter, always was able to get wifi and the router through Charter and now 6 months have past so this 54 year old lady that knows the internet like to play and chat bit not all the techy stuff am stuff paying to NetGear $79.00 for 6 months for customer service. Now Thats not right and that is where I have issues and Charter needs to rethink there logic in this. I have been a customer of Charter since 1996, and with internet since 2000. I think they should try at all costs to provide everything they always have that we have grown accustomed to and have had through the years along with the customer service.How right is this to take something away that is important to have internet on 3 or 4 laptops in a house. The days of just some desktop that is hooked to a modem is pretty much over and rare. Like me I have no clue what to do when this Netgear stops working and yet I have to pay an additional price along with my Charter bundle to just to have net wireless service. I may rethink where I get my bundle . I have called about this and told them to please pass this along to who it may concern, and let this be known to which I am sure they have not nor they care. To do away with wireless to people thay may not have it through any cell phone service to which I do not have a cell phone , so not everyone goes in that direction. I see a company that wanted to do away with an area that they didnt want to send service techs out to fix. Another words they couldnt keep up and thats not the customers fault. I use to have a Cisco router and you have to go in the settings and do all this stid clicking to which I was so lost and never could get it to work then Charter sent me that ubee and even though it was just 15mbps I was so much happier. I guess I better watch out for what I ask for but I had been paying for the higher mbps for almost a year but was never getting it and they sure didnt come forth and tell me. Charter is very good about not going out of there way and contacting you so your getting what your paying for. I guess they think everyone is suppose to know what all there techs know. I am so upset with Charter.
