[BHN] Spectrum/BHN won't send a technician to my house. I'm lost...

First, I have to say that service has seriously declined since Spectrum bought BHN. I cant talk to anyone in America, only India. They are telling me that if they send a technician out to my house and it's not their fault, they'll charge me $30. The problem is...back when it was BHN, they TOLD ME TO call them and have a technician come out. Basically, I have a uBee modem and have been having internet problems. I own the modem. The technician told me that those modems are crap and to get an Arris modem for internet and use the uBee for JUST phone and to call them to physically set it up when I did get the new modem. Now, when I try to call them, they say I own the modems and its basically my problem and not theirs and they'll charge me $30. I have no idea how to split the modems myself. Can anyone please help me? This has been hell. I'm already in the process of dropping them completely since they raised prices and won't lower them unless I cancel and wait 30 days. Thanks everyone.
