I've found the list of blocked ports in the FAQ and 3389 is not in it. I first ran across problems trying to share a file with my dad via a web server. I didn't want to waste time uploading it somewhere and have him download the file when he could just download it direct from me. I tried port 8080, 81 and 85 but none of them let me connect. I gave up but am now trying to open up RDP (3389) for me to access my computer remotely when I'm not home only to find that is blocked as well.
Getting frustrated I decided to do an "any any" allow rule in my firewall (Pfsense 2.1 RC0) and ran a scan at GRC. You know what the ONLY open port was? 80. Well that was annoying to discover as I could have used the default port (which I didn't even try, expecting it to be blocked). So what gives, is Charter firewalling me? I've attached the NAT and Firewall rules pages showing what "should" be open but aren't.
