I pose a question pertaining to the SB6121 modem. One is considering updating my relative's modem. The relative is a Charter customer, whom has the triple play bundle package of telephony, internet and cable telly.
Presently, the relative is using an Arris TM602-A. It was installed 2 1/2 years ago, and is running solidly. The Arris has a pair of RJ-11 telephony ports; one of which is being used for the telephone service.
The upside is that the SB modem is featuring DOCSIS 3.0. Downside is omission of an RJ-11 telephony port.
With the above intangibles, is there a way to get telephony via the SB6121? My hunch indicates no, as one would need a telephony cable modem with a RJ-11 port. Is this correct?
Many thanks in advance for any input.
