I have been using ispy software and the ispyconnect.com site to view my home security IP cameras (both live, and the recordings) for years.
Last week, I switched from centurytel to Charter as my isp. ispyconnect.com still worked fine for the first week with charter, but now I get this error from 3 different computers, and one android tablet:
There was a problem accessing iSpy over your LAN
Check your firewall and antivirus isn't blocking the connection (the web app is trying to connect to http://192.168.11.5:8080/
If the server is available you should get a response containing the text "iSpy".
Did charter recognize I was using that port, then shut it down? Could it be something else?
I use the charter security suite, and I'm running Windows 10 Pro 32bit. I do not get any messages from the security suite, or Windows firewall, saying that something was blocked.
Is there a workaround?
Maybe this should be posted in networking, but thought maybe since it started with my switch to charter...
edit: I use the free version of ispy, which only allows me to view the cameras from within my own lan.
