I've made several calls and had 2 technicians over trying to get my cablecard on my HDHomeRun Prime to activate or what silcondust calls validation. So far I have had 3 cablecards and 2 tuning adapters installed. The latest revelation is that the address of the cablecard isn't showing up as registered. They have my host id and the serial number of the cablecard. I'm assuming that Charter has to do a manual binding because the card is a one-way device. Today after some discussion the tech asked me for the MAC address which makes sense to me unless they have some sort of table lookup for the mac address based on the serial number of the card. Still no luck. The tech is going to stop by tomorrow and try a 800 mcard instead of the 803 which shouldn't make a difference. It is real frustrating to not be able to talk directly to someone technical at charter over the phone and have to have the tech middle man. If this next visit doesn't resolve my issue I will just return the HDHomerun. :huh:
