I've been clicking along with Charter for 8~9 months at this location (and had 2 years at another), pretty much without issue. Yesterday my bank (USAA, I use them for online billpay) notified me that Charter had changed my account number. This has the side effect of removing access to all my prior statements as well (USAA pulls that from Charter, Charter didn't move the into to my 'new' account number).
So, I call this morning... it sucked as it always does, the CS couldn't give me any reason for the change other than "an internal change required ACCOUNT number changes"... ummm, wat? Thanks for the heads up/notification that you were changing something related to my account Charter. :uhh: Oh, they have my last name spelled wrong and the CS agent couldn't change that... they had to send a request to 'another department'. Really?
Anyway, anyone else have this happen? Any folks with insight into this? I've never, at 40 now with lots of accounts behind me, had an account changed "just because". Heck, I have a couple accounts that have remained unchanged for 39 years. My only guess is that since I'm in an area that'll go to the Comcast/TWC monster in the event of merger, Charter is simply segregating us.
