It turns out if you get the latest HD Home-run and try to make it work with a Moto Tuning Adapter MTR-700 it will not work. There is a bug in the TA firmware and will fail to authenticate.

From what we have been able to determine, if the security certificate is from Jan 2014 or earlier everything works fine...
Cablecard authenticates the device certificate OK.
Cisco TR authenticates the device certificate OK.
Motorola TR authenticates the device certificate OK.
If the security certificate is from May 2014 or later the Motorola TR is unhappy...
Cablecard authenticates the device certificate OK.
Cisco TR authenticates the device certificate OK.
MTR700 TR does not authenticate the device certificate.
SD is working on a Patch (work around) until the new MTR-700 firmware is ready.
