[HSI] Slow Night Time Speeds Northern Nevada

Since getting Charter Internet service a year ago I never had good night time speeds. They were always in the 10-12 Mbps range. Daytime has always been spot on. I accepted this as a status quo as I could live with that level. But the last few months I noticed signs of very low speeds (like 5 hours to download a Garmin GPS map update) so I started to run and keep a record of my speeds both AM and PM. After two weeks my night time speeds average about 4.5 Mbps with lows hitting 1.5 Mbps. So I finally called and they sent a guy out and of course there was nothing to do. In refreshing honesty he did say the area (Reno And Carson City NV) was suffering overload problems. They are "working on it" and it has been discussed at weekly meetings. They are ordering new equipment he says. I don't expect any help on this as its a typical overload issue and there is nothing that can be done except to turn up the heat to get them to move faster. What this post is about is trying to get others in the area suffering from this problem to help each other by complaining and hopefully get Charter to step up their efforts. This is my first step by posting here. I plan on calling the BBB, demanding Charter give credit for bad service, writing the local government and state agencies and making a lot of noise. I hope if you are in this area and having similar problems you will join in the fun. :)
