I had a perfectly functional Cisco DPC3010 which of course they forced me to remove when they upgaded me from residential to business service. Its like going from a bagel to a loaf of bread. The new SMCD3GN2 they gave me is huge and has more features than I needed. I already have an etherswitch and wifi router in place that I wont get rid of (especially since I wouldnt be able to control the SMC myself). Tonight we dropped off line and I came down and checked and the bloody WIFI led was flashing on this modem. I had them turn the WIFI off because I didnt need it nor did I want it interfering with my existing setup. I powered the modem off and on and it came back up initally with the WIFI led on but now its off. Has anyone else had similar issues? I hate having a device they have so much control over. Yes I know as soon as I hooked up the Cisco they took control of that but at least it didnt have an angle that could interfere with my existing setup.
