This has been driving me insane and I'm not sure what else I can do.
Years ago I installed the BHTV app and the profile/certificate for the BHN Secure wifi network on my iPhone. It seemed like a good idea at the time but I quickly got tired of it constantly connecting while driving around resulting in poor connections while listening to streaming audio and I was able to get rid of it.
I have since gotten a new iPhone and I'm assuming as part of the restore the thing has come back.
In an effort to get rid of it again I have done the following in a different order many times:
1. Reinstalled BHTV app and reinstalled the BHN Secure profile
2. Deleted the profile
3. Deleted the BHTV app
4. Reset the iPhone network settings
I also tried creating my own BHN Secure wifi network, connected to that and was able to forget it... but the actual one still connects anyway.
In any normal case resetting the network settings is enough to clear anything out but as soon as the phone restarts BHN Secure immediately reconnects and shows the "Bright House Networks" profile name below it, despite the fact the profile is deleted and there are no other profiles installed (at least none that are visible).
During the network reset every other wifi network is forgotten as are my OpenVPN profiles so the network reset is working.
The phone is now prompting me for my BHN login whenever it sees the network, which is worse than it actually connecting because I get a popup every time.
There is no "forget this network" option and turning off the "auto join" setting does nothing.
Does anyone know how can I get rid of this without doing a complete iPhone reset and starting fresh?
I miss Gary. I'm not even going to attempt to call the Spectrum phone support monkeys about this.
Thanks
