If Charter is serious about their video product, they can start right now by fixing local inserts. I bet this problem exists in other markets.
On my system, local inserts start 4-10 seconds after the network fill for the avail starts. What I get is the start of a network lower tier commercial, then Charter's insert. And Charter never exits the local insert on time either -- it is ALWAYS way too short or overlaps.
In Detroit, local stations actually change their commercials for Comcast for Comcast's fiber feed (they don't send Comcast TV product ads to people clearly using Comcast's TV product). If *they* can manage to get inserts working in an entirely similar manner, Charter should be able to pull it off too.
Local inserts on Charter are comically bad commercials, so they are almost fun to watch. But Charter's sloppy presentation certainly isn't helping and I have no idea why people throw good money at such a poorly presented medium.
I have complained via the normal channels. Maybe someone who actually gives a crap reads these forums because everyone I have complained to seems to think this is a non-issue. It is an issue, it is sloppy product that people pay good money to receive and it is disruptive to watch.
