Georgia. North of the perimeter. Gwinnett. Duluth. I have no idea how widespread this problem is, but for the past few weeks, I've been experiencing intermittent brutal upload problems during peak times. "0.6" and "error" about sums it up. Whatever card or switch or thing-a-ma-jig was connecting my neighborhood to the world wide internet was literally on its last legs. I'm talking dial-up speeds here, people. 56 kbps. US Robotics represent. You can't watch YouTube with a 56k upstream! But it didn't start out like that. No. It started very subtly. Almost a whisper. Then it went exponential. A little slowdown here. A little slowdown there. Is it my wireless router? Is it the cable? What's happening? I'm over here switching wireless channels like like a crazed teenager wondering why it's 30mbps one day and 8 mbps the next day and no megabitspersecond at 8pm on Sunday night. Pondering buying a $300 industrial wireless router (one of my neighbors gave in, must suck for him). Nope. It's just the cable. The upload is gone... And I became that guy. The guy that has that 30 minute argument with 1st level support throwing out the "I read online that neighborhoods get congested" as if it means anything to the man listening to me who just wants to get to his next break. Then the Internet died. For 24 hours. And it came back. GLORIOUSLY. THANK YOU CHARTER. ONE TIME. :) (PS - It's so surreal. Now I can go back to living my life, not worrying about my internet. What a life.)
