Qs about my new service

My 100MB/s business service is in, and averaging 83MB/s on speedtest.net between my home and Charter's Olivette testing server about 5 physical miles away. More realistically I'm seeing 38MB/s using the new Netflix fast.com speed test. However, my NNTPs downloads are hitting 110+Mbps indicated in Newsbin and finishing in like 2.5 minutes (this would be around 30Mbps and 8 minutes on my 10-year old U-Verse service). Do these performance numbers sound reasonable to you guys? The prem-tech deployed a Hitron cable modem. Am I going to pay a monthly fee for the equipment? If so, can I sub it out with something I own? Again if so, what's a good recommended modem, and how do I get it configured for Charter's network? I need to make some changes to the wiring between my demarc and modem. I'm concerned about negative impact to my signal. The modem is serving a public IP to my router, and I'm not using Charter's WiFi. Is there a way for me to view the modem stats without involving support? Or should I just work with them to get before/after stats to see if the change in wiring has affected my signal? Thank you!
