Charter cable with internet access. No internet problems.
I have two cisco explorer 4640hdc boxes on two TVs. All issues apply to both TV/cable boxes.

New "required" updated boxes in last few months.
Charter has been to my house at least 20 times to fix my cable but has never fixed it.
ISSUES:
The picture will go blank at times.
Sound can become choppy, sort of like it is clipping. Moving around to channels will eventually correct this but it will come back. Sometimes happens when you are not channel surfing and sometimes when you are.
The sound drops out at times.
WHEN WATCHING A CHANNEL THE CHANNEL WILL SOMETIMES DROP OUT AND DISPLAY THE "TO ORDER THIS CHANNEL........" IT WILL STAY THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN IT WILL GO BACK TO THE CHANNEL. I BELIEVE THIS INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE COMMUNICATION OF THE BOX WITH CHARTER.
Everything is intermittent.
What they have done or found.
Signal strength is perfect.
A dedicated coax to one of the boxes.
New splitters.
New line to the pole.
Boxes have been updated by charter service personel.
In short everything to locate bad connections, splitters, cables, ect. has been done and done again.
Any thoughts what this might be. I am so discouraged that it is easier to accept bad service than keep calling Charter.
Suggestions appreciated. I suspect that it is a main charter line or issues with the boxes. I just don't know how to proceed.
