Gotta love it. Yet they allow activation for customers like me and it is the same one they hand out locally. If you don't support them. Don't allow activation or them on the network. I got this response while trying to get the latest firmware pushed to my new Motorola SB6141. If I was a bad guy. It seems you could run a hacked modem just fine on Charter's network. Since it is still using Motorola firmware and not theirs. A baddy could easily run custom firmware. I know me and others have got no such letter or email about Charter dropping full support for customer owned modems. It is wrong if this is happening. Especially when you purchase the same exact modem they are handing out. In my area. They want $7.00 for the modem rental fee. Its all about them getting that extra money.
